A new trailer for "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" was recently launched by Bandai Namco, featuring a new character from "Dragon Ball Super." Goku Black will be appearing in "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" as a pre-order bonus.
GameRant reported that "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" will showcase Goku Black soon, although the anime series has yet to reach Western shores. In the teaser video, Goku Black is a hostile and powerful character that will be playable in the game when it becomes available. The gameplay video of Goku Black in action was shown in the new "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" trailer, including his unique blasts.
The character was battling Super Saiyan God Vegeta. The two were in midair in the "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" gameplay video. Goku Black was wearing a predominantly black outfit and red belt, giving the blue-haired Vegeta a huge beating. Many of Goku Black's moveset in "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" appeared similar to the original Goku in previous gameplay footages, although there were notable changes. His Kamehameha wave was black and dark purple, compared to the original Goku's bright blue blasts. The duel ended with the camera zooming in on Goku Black as he fires his ultimate ability.
Forbes noted that the recent Goku Black revelation in "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" confirmed previous fan speculations that the title is connected to the Japanese anime series. In the story, Goku Black managed to time travel using a special ring, also drawing several enemies from various timelines. Although Goku Black's role in "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" is still uncertain, he may be the reason how villains can travel through time. He may also be an antagonist in the new storyline.
"Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" features 68 fighters, including Goku Black. There will also be several familiar characters like Piccolo, Gohan, and Trunks, among others. More characters may be available after the game releases as downloadable content. The new character will be exclusive to those who pre-order the game. "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" will launch on Oct. 25, 2016 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. More updates and details are expected soon.
