Google Pixel smartphones that were sold in Verizon are reportedly not spared from having bundled with a huge number of preinstalled apps that in fact, have no little value. The telecommunications company has been known for bundling massive amounts of unnecessary apps called "bloatware." Based on reports, the new smartphones are also coming with these kinds of apps.
The new Google Pixel is reported to have eight "Pre-loaded Play Store Apps." Verizon website also confirms that the usual Google-made apps will also be bundled with the majority of Android devices. The apps that are included from Verizon are Go90, VZ Messages and My Verizon.
Moreover, other Google apps that are reportedly pre-loaded outside for the regular bundle also include Duo, Allo, Doc, Keep and Android Pay. However, some reports indicate that Verizon is unable to clarify if the bloatware apps are also uninstallable or not. Nevertheless, Android 5.0 Lollipop has also enabled the carriers to download the apps to their devices outside of the system updates. According to reports, apps that are installed in this way can be downloaded through the PlayStore, which means they are could be removed later by the user.
Google Pixel bought in Verizon with bloatware apps is not determined if installed in that way. This means that it could either be removed easily or are bundled as uninstallable system apps, Android Police reported.
Meanwhile, Google Pixel and Pixel XL launch is reportedly aiming at Apple, which is believed to likely predict the future of Android phones and lead the entire smartphone industry. In terms of the cost, the new smartphones has left the shadow of the previous pricing of the Nexus phones. Also, it is also reportedly the first time that the tech company gives emphasis to "Made by Google" term, as it claims to design, develop and manufactured both smartphones.
Google Pixel smartphones are also seen to be the transition of HTC from Google's option from OEM to ODM. Based on previous reports, Huawei was first approached by Google but the Chinese phone manufacturer reportedly declined due to the absence of Huawei branding on the phones, Indian Express reported.
