Looks like Ubisoft has an affinity for the same thing 6 year olds do. First they have a scurvy ridden pirate assassin, and now they're taking things to the old West. Announced back in fall, and teased ever so slightly, Ubisoft has finally released a trailer for "Call of Juarez: Gunslinger."
Kinda makes me feel like watching "True Grit."
Nothing like a bit of showdowns at high noon to get the blood pumping. It's unclear what the plot is exactly, if players will fill the boots of a wanted gunman himself, or someone just out to collect bounties, but when a game features notorious outlaws like Jesse James and Billy the Kid, you can expect plenty of gunplay, maybe even some recreations of famous historical events.
While it looks to be completely different from "Red Dead Redemption," "Gunslinger" certainly seems up to the challenge of de-throning Rockstar's title from its reign as king of the Old West genre.
Ubisoft will be at PAX East at the end of the month. While they don't have "Gunslinger" listed among their planned presentations, anything can happen.
