Kate Middleton was recently spotted in Manchester on Oct. 14 to pay tribute to her late mother in law Princess Diana who had opened a hospice in the place 25 years ago. She accompanied her husband Prince William as they visited a museum, scored a penalty, participated in a ceremony and talked with young football players. Finally, the royals capped the day in Francis House.
The Princess of Wales had been the first to open the hospice in Didsbury, Manchester back in 1991. Decades later, the Duchess of Cambridge Middleton was seen in the same place donning a printed Erdem coat with a low side ponytail accompanying her husband Prince William, son of Princess Diana of Wales. Independent reported.
The royal couple also visited The National Football Museum in the Urbis building in Manchester. The Duke of Cambridge also scored a penalty during their visit. William cheered as his effort goes in off the bar after his single attempt was saved at the penalty shoot-out game. He then asks wife Katherine Middleton if she would like to take a spot-kick which the heels-and-Erdem donned Duchess politely declined.
Katherine Middleton and Prince William were in the museum for an hour where they also met with England 1966 World-Cup winner Roger Hunt. There they handled the famous orange match ball from the final. Afterwards, they had a friendly chat with the young academy and the team players from Manchester United, Manchester City, Wigan Athletic and Bolton Wanderers.
Meanwhile, Prince William and Middleton were also given a tour of the museum to explain how and why football has come to be "the people's game," Hello Magazine reported. Moreover, the Duke held the 1966 World Cup football nervously with a pair of white gloves. He had declined to raise the trophy saying he would not want to "jinx it".
Middleton and Prince William also went to Manchester Town Hall to participate in a ceremony at the Cenotaph, laying a wreath in honor of Manchester's six recipients of the Victoria Cross as part of the First World War Centenary Campaign. The royal couple also visited The National Graphene Institute at The University of Manchester and capping the day in Francis House, the hospices started by Princess Diana which is already celebrating its 25th anniversary.
