The second trailer of "Star Wars: Rogue One" was recently featured by Disney and Lucasfilm. It showed the development of the Death Star and how the rebels intend to stop it.
Variety stated that the "Star Wars: Rogue One" trailer focused on JynErso (Felicity Jones) and her father, Galen Erso (Mads Mikkelsen). The new main villain as revealed in the new "Star Wars" clip is Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn), who tells Darth Vader about the immeasurable power of the Death Star. Jyn and the Rebels, on the other hand, are plotting to steal the plans to prevent the creation of the super weapon. Fans were excited to see Darth Vader again since "Star Wars: Episode III" in 2005.
Mail Online cited that the starting scene in the "Star Wars: Rogue One" trailer featured protagonist Jyn in her childhood days, talking with her long absent father. Galen told the young Jyn that everything he does is for her protection. Afterwards, Galen was taken by a squad of soldiers, including Orson Krennic, an Imperial Military Director who has dedicated his life to complete the Death Star. Most likely, the Rebels will be dealing with Orson more than Darth Vader.
The "Star Wars: Rogue One" video proceeded to the present day, where Jyn and the Rebel Alliance are working together to potentially stop the completion of the Death Star. Apparently, Galen was important in the development of the super weapon, which compelled Jyn to attempt to find him. The "Star Wars: Rogue One" trailer also revealed the meaning of the movie title. Rogue One is actually a call sign that the Rebels came up with before going on a dangerous mission.
The second "Star Wars: Rogue One" trailer featured several classic characters and vehicles, such as TIE Fighters, X-Wings, the AT-ST Walker. Darth Vader also made his appearance for the first time. Several other characters were spotted, like Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), Mon Mothma (Genevieve O'Reilly), Saw Gerarra (Forest Whitaker) and ChirrutImwe (Donnie Yen). "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is the first spinoff from the famous franchise. The new "Star Wars" spinoff film is scheduled to launch on Dec. 16, 2016.
