"Friday The 13th: The Game" release date will not be happening this month after all. In a big and surprising announcement, developer Gun Media and Illfonic confirmed that the full game release might be delayed a bit longer but for good reason. But this should not be too much of a problem for those who preordered the game; a "Friday the 13th Game" Beta will be available later this year ensuring that they still could play the games sans it's new mode.
Full 'Friday the 13th Game' Release Delayed
In the game's Kickstarter Page, developers Gun Media and Illfonic made the confirmation that indeed the highly-anticipated "Friday the 13th: The Game" release date has been moved next year. However, the developers assure that they have a perfectly good reason for the move that far outweighs the minor inconvenience of a few more months of waiting.

Apparently the cause of the "Friday the 13th Game" release date is the developers' decision to include an offline and single player modes. Based on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and forum talks, the developers gave in to gamers' wishes to have the offline single player mode which necessitates the slight delay. A
'Friday The 13th: The Game' Beta Release This Fall
Despite the delay of the game's full release, those who pre-ordered the game as well as Kickstarter backers will still have access to the upcoming "Friday the 13th Game" Beta release which is scheduled to happen later this year. In addition, the beta access will also include 4 additional Beta keys for friends.
The good thing is, Gun Media and Illfonic promised that once the full game releases, which include the single player offline mode, those who preordered or backed the game in Kickstarter will receive the single player/offline module for free as well. It's still a win-win situation for them because, they will have access to the game's beta multiplayer component ahead of the rest.
'Friday the 13th: The Game' Multiplayer Release Date, New Playable Character, Map
For those who opt to wait it out, the "Friday the 13th Game" Multiplayer release date is scheduled to happen on the early part of 2017. This is an exciting event even for those who have early beta access since the multiplayer release also coincides with the roll out of additional content, such as the inclusion of Tommy Jarvis as a playable character and a third playable map known as Packanack Lodge.

In the meantime, the final component of the game, the single player/offline mode, is scheduled to happen by summer of 2017.
