“Pokemon Go” players who use bots, scanners and other third party apps were blocked by Niantic recently following the new updates rolled out for both iOS and Android. Versions 0.41.2 for Android and 1.11.2 for iOS rolled out highlighted by the much hyped “Catch Bonus” which would allow players better chances at seeing and capturing rares.
While the new features should be something to check out, the blocking of bots, scanners, and other third party apps was seen to contribute to the drop in active “Pokemon Go” players. This doesn’t necessarily mean that the game is plagued by cheaters but more of the enforced reCaptcha by Niantic. The new feature has become irritating and has so far be inconsistent to separate the bots from players who merely leave the app open while on the go.
Aside from the Catch Bonus, other new features brought by the latest “Pokemon Go” patches include updates to Gym Training, egg and incubator screens, fixes for audio and decreased animation during evolutions, Pokemon Go Live reported. As far as the new reCaptcha is concerned, all it was able to do is slow down cheat apps with some finding ways to work around it. One example is FastPokeMap which was still able to reach game servers despite the screening protocol.
With that said, it should be interesting to seen when Niantic is able to provide a reliable and working tracking system which many “Pokemon Go” players are complaining about. With the block issued on apps, gamers are practically left in the dark on how to go about their pocket monster hunting itinerary.
Regardless, third party apps like FastPokeMap and bots are expected to come up with something new in an effort to appease players who still rely on them for aid on the augmented reality game, i4u reported. With a questionable implementation of encryption, Niantic will likely want to see what these groups have to offer.
