The world will finally meet Marvel's most dangerous martial artist Danny Rand when "Iron Fist" premieres next year. Comic book fans already know about the character's origin story, but will the Netflix series depict the reason why Danny decides to leave his training in K'un-Lun? Finn Jones has just addressed the reason why his character goes back to New York and even teased on his several contradictions.
Finn Jones Confirms Danny Rand Will Avenge His Family's Death In 'Iron Fist'?
In the comic books, Danny Rand ended up in K'un-Lun after his father is betrayed by his business partner and his mother was killed by wolves. The young boy was taken in by the city's ruler Yu-Ti and was trained by Lei Kung in the martial arts. Danny later decides to seek out his father's killer for revenge, but will this be the same reason why Finn Jones' character goes back to New York in "Iron Fist"?
"I can't really say much because Marvel will shoot me dead on the spot," Jones stated during the show's panel at the recent New York Comic-Con (via Comic Book Resources). However, Finn Jones is quick to confirm that "there are contradictions to the character." He described Danny Rand as "innocent" and "pure" but also "a really troubled character." Nevertheless, there is hope from fans that Danny will branch out beyond "Iron Fist" and cross over to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
