Few months prior to the "Resident Evil 7" release date, producer Masachika Kawata during an interview confirmed that, the game will not have an online mode. The few months that the development team behind the released several demos, none of it appeared to imply an online mode. Despite that, fans were keen on knowing if the game will carry what "Resident Evil 5" previously had.
In an interview with Yugatech, featured on WCCFTech, Masachika said "Resident Evil 7 is not supporting any online modes. So for example, with Resident Evil 5, we focused on cooperative online play, which as well-received. But the key concept of Resident Evil 7 is horror, so from the very beginning, we thought that playing alone will give the best horror experience."
He also added that, despite the absence of the online mode, they plan on releasing the demo of "Resident Evil 7" on all platforms. A separate demo is also planned for the PS4 platform and without specific release date, Masachika promised, it will arrive soon.
When asked whether the remake of "Resident Evil 2" is underway, he said that the specific title has a different producer, hence his inability to give concrete details about the remake. However, he expressed his hopes that they will be able to release some update about the "Resident Evil 2" soon.
In the latest report by Attack of the Fanboy, the journey of the "Resident Evil 7" and its series of demos gave little information about its gameplay. Masachika's statement should have confirmed some of these queries, but instead, he only confirmed the absence of the game's online mode. Meanwhile, "Resident Evil 7" is scheduled for release on the Xbox One PS4 and PC platform on the 24th of January 2017. Are you looking forward to play "Resident Evil 7?"
