With reports that iOS 10 has been installed on two-thirds of devices, any chance of seeing an iOS 10 jailbreak may be for naught. iOS 10 has the fastest adoption rate so far compared to previous Apple releases, an occurrence that may be hard to explain.
The development somehow comes as a surprise considering iOS 10 lagged behind iOS 9 in previous months, 9 to 5 Mac Reported. Compared to previous operating systems, user upgrades to iOS 10 rose in September which could be a due to a couple of reasons.
One is the famed call audio issues tied up to the iPhone 7/ 7 Plus that was the main target of iOS 10.0.2. The update came not long after iOS 10.0.1 came out to fix minor issues, Forbes reported.
iOS 10.0.3 expected to be rolled out soon
While Apple’s aggressive push to update iOS 10 has taken various jabs due to flaws, the Cupertino company is expected to roll out iOS 10.0.3 to address a security issue brought up by Elcomsoft. This had to do with the fact that iTunes backups could be easily hacked due to changes in the layers of security.
What does this mean for iOS 10 jailbreakers?
With most folks reportedly on iOS 10 and up, seeing an iOS jailbreak could be a lost cause for Pangu, TaiG and other individual hackers. Pangu did show off that iOS 10 jailbreak on a beta version though a lot of changes have been done since then.
Apple’s constant updates have made it hard to work on an iOS 10 jailbreak though hackers could choose one to crack instead. This would boil down to a game of chance to see which users would stay on a particular iOS 10 version.
