In 2007 the man behind such titles as "Beverly Hills Cop," "Top Gun" and "The Rock" decided he wanted in on the game business. That man was Jerry Bruckheimer, and in true modesty-obsessed Hollywood style he named the company Jerry Bruckheimer Games.
Today, that studio is no more, reports Gamespot.
How could such a thing happen? We may never know. While the company, which at one point partnered with MTV Games, was supposedly working on three different games for the Xbox 360 and PS3, nothing ever developed and no games were ever released. When the studio began Bruckeimer told Gamespot "It'll be an idea [house]. We'll work with other developers and studios to hire an executive team and come up with something we feel is interesting."
Now Jerry Bruckheimer Games "is no longer a functioning entity a rep tells Gamespot.
Even if we can't expect a game from Bruckheimer, he's still working on "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" and hopefully the next "Amazing Race."
