When the "Wonder Woman" movie was initially announced over two years ago, most fans who have followed earlier cartoons and comic books were expecting Steve Trevor, a significant supporting character, would appear. Latest reports confirm that these fans are right and Steve Trevor will be seen in the movie and will be played by Chris Pine, who will meet Diana in World War I.
In the earlier "Wonder Woman" TV series which was aired in the 1970s, this pattern was done when Lyle Waggoner first played Steve Trevor who worked along Diana during the war. After thirty long years, Waggoner remained on the cast but as a different character, this time being Steve Trevor Jr., who knew a lot about Wonder Woman from the stories his father told him.
CinemaBlend reports that rumors appeared later on which says that Pine will also play another character in the same movie, but he confirms that such will not be happening. Last year, it was reported that "Wonder Woman" would be featuring several time periods and while Pine would be seen in World War I, he would be seen again later on as Trevor's grandson. Later, however, Huffington Post caught up with the actor while he was in LA to shoot the new Armani Code fragrance to confirm if such rumor is true and Pine shot it down with a categorical "no."
This could mean that the actor does not have time to take on multiple roles in a movie because aside from taking on an iconic role in "Wonder Woman," he still plays to role of Captain Kirk in Star Trek. In his interview, Pine reveals that he found it fun to fall in love with Gal Gadot, do some comedy, do some action. When asked what part he had the most fun with, he reveals that the film features a nice love story at the midst of an action film which is not seen very often with these kinds of films.
It is also noteworthy that Pine had signed a multi-picture deal when he joined the cast of "Wonder Woman," which could mean that he would be seen in more than one movie. With the role duplicity rumor debunked, nothing yet is known how Pine would reappear in subsequent movies unless he would be frozen in time or placed in some kind of stasis until he moves again.
