The reverse tower defense genre put 11 Bit Studios on gamer's collective radar with their 2011 title "Anomaly: Warzone." Now there's a new trailer announcing "Anomaly 2" which highlights how the vehicles in the game transform into mechs. In reverse tower defense the player controls the wave of characters moving across the map as opposed to traditional tower defense where the defenses in the player's control.
As for what's actually going on and why these vehicles are transforming into mechs the company says:
"In the years following the invasion of Earth in 2018, the planet is overrun by alien machines. Humankind is on the verge of extinction. Banded together in huge convoys, they search the frozen tundra for food and supplies. Since the war, the roles have been reversed: now our species seems to be the Anomaly on a machine-controlled planet. Your convoy, Commander, is called Yukon."
We're not sure what it means either but we enjoyed the first game on our iPad. While "Anomaly 2" is currently expected later this year on PC, Mac and Linux, the first game and its follow up "Anomaly Korea" both wound up on IOS and we expect the same thing to happen to this one.
