"The Walking Dead" Season 7 is set to unveil a bigger world and a more dangerous setting for beloved characters of the AMC series. In a recent interview, cast member Lauren Cohan became emotional when asked about the show's future.
Cohan has been a part of the AMC zombie apocalyptic show since its earlier seasons. Viewers saw her character Maggie's various struggles and love story with Steven Yeun's Glenn. However, the actress' reaction during "The Walking Dead" panel held at the New York Comic-Con may have hinted of something bad happening to the said character.
The British-American star cried as she talked about Maggie and the AMC series' upcoming centennial episode. The show will soon surpass the 100 episode mark with its Season 7 finale as the 99th episode.
The actress also commented on the "great privilege" of being a part of a long-running series, TV Guide quoted the actress as saying. She also thanked the fans who remained loyal to the AMC series over the years. Cohan even described the journey as "incredible" and gushed on how the zombie apocalyptic series made its mark in the entertainment industry.
Cohan's emotional interview led to speculations that her character may be faced with a difficult challenge in Season 7. Other fans may have also thought that Maggie could be Negan's (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) victim in the AMC show.
However, storyline speculations posted E! News indicated that the pregnant Maggie may be an unlikely victim of Negan's barb-wired bat Lucille. The teaser clip that was shown during the New York Comic-Con also hinted of the said character's safety.
The said clip featured a look at Rick (Andrew Lincoln) after Negan's brutal attack. His right face was streaked with blood but not enough to indicate that Maggie became the victim of Negan's head-bashing actions.
Avid viewers may recall that Maggie was situated on Rick's right side during the Season 6 finale where beloved characters all kneeled on the ground waiting for Negan's judgement. The single blood streak on Rick's face also suggested that the villain's victim may be located a little farther from Maggie.
"The Walking Dead" Season 7 will premiere on Oct. 23, Sunday, on AMC. Watch the latest trailer below:
