Phoenix Suns' Brandon Knight stole the trading spotlight two weeks before the NBA 2016-17 opener. The Suns heavy with guards this upcoming season while there are gaping loopholes in other positions.
Current depth of Phoenix Suns boasts prospect Devin Booker who is fresh from his rookie year and had an outstanding performance. Eric Bledsoe had a good showing as well in the last season but limited to 31 games. And of course, Brandon Knight appeared in 52 games with good results. The three are decent scorers but Suns are facing dilemma in rotation of these players.
Apparently, proper rotation is not possible for guard position without setting one among them in the bench. Phoenix Suns know this problem and might get out of it by trading a player. It is a matter of question who among Knight and Bledsoe. Count Booker out of the equation because Suns are contemplating 2 more seasons to see his full potential, ESPN reported.
Make no mistake about it, either of the three is a good player and has capacity to contribute to Phoenix Suns 2016-17 NBA campaign. Booker is again, a prospect who managed to stun 2015-16 with decent 14 points per game, 2.6 assists and caps at 2.5 rebounds. Comparably, his stats are lower than that of Knight and Bledsoe. Booker's selling point is the observation from aficionados that he packs potential if tapped rightly, Sportsrageous said.
Bledsoe inched a bit in statistics but played for limited 31 games during previous Phoenix Suns campaign. He sports 20.4 points per game with 6.2 assists and 4 rebounds. Coincidentally, Knight has almost identical figures at 19.6 points per game, 5.1 assists and 3.9 rebounds. It is a tough call for Suns but a trade for the good of everybody nonetheless.
If Knight is the most likely candidate to trade block what could he do to make the most of his time with Phoenix Suns? Analysts say that Knight has to do everything to shine before the year ends, all for the reason of inflating his trade value come 2017.
