However, latest speculations surprisingly suggest that Somerhalder is quite excited about a possible reunion between Damon Salvatore and Elena Gilbert. However, latest speculations hint that an Elena and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) reunion is something that Somerhalder hopes to happen. To recall, showrunner Julie Plec revealed that discussions are on-going for Dobrev's possible return for the series finale. However, this resurrected Dobrev and Nikki Reed controversy, making "Delena" unlikely to happen.

Contrary to speculations, Ian Somerhalder expressed his excitement in a recent interview with E! News. To be specific, he's excited for "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 to finally end so he can concentrate making a family with wife Nikki Reed. With his schedule on the TV series, it's a bit difficult to have children. While he admitted that it's difficult to say goodbye to "The Vampire Diaries" family, he's looking forward to starting a new one with his wife Nikki Reed.

Nikki Reed Not Jealous Of Nina Dobrev?

Despite the on-going rumors that Nikki Reed doesn't want Nina Dobrev to return for "The Vampire Diaries" season 8, Ian Somerhalder's words seemed to settle whatever jealousy rumors Dobrev's return inspired. If a "Delena" reunion won't likely happen, then it's probably best for Dobrev to return as Katherine Pierce. Somerhalder pointed out that Elena is better off without any of the Salvatore brothers.
