Ahead of "Mafia 3"'s release today, gamers who have advanced copies of the game have taken to Steam to air their concerns about the 30FPS video frame rate on PC. Most commenters are claiming that the game is limited to 30 fps and therefore could not deliver in terms of graphics.
According to Polygon, 2K Games and Hangar 13 have released an official statement on the 30 fps video issues that "Mafia 3" gamers are experiencing on PC. The companies admitted that the game does have a limitation of 30 fps for PC, but they are working hard to make sure that the game delivers high quality graphics across all platforms.
Hangar 13 and 2K Games also revealed that they "are currently working on an update for PC that will give players the option to play 'Mafia 3' at higher framerates." While there are no details about the update just yet, or when it will arrive, both Hangar 13 and 2K Games are encouraging gamers to get in touch with them to air their concerns and tell them "what performance adjustment options are important to you."
In addition, Hangar 13 and 2K Games are also looking to deliver several post-launch improvements especially for "Mafia 3" on PC. Meanwhile, in an interview with NDTV, Hangar 13 Studio Head and Creative Director Haden Blackman shared that there is definitely tons to look forward to in terms of new post-launch material for "Mafia 3."
For those who will get their hands on "Mafia 3" today, expect DLC arriving post-release. This DLC will feature free cosmetic upgrades and missions. Blackman hinted at a "story-driven expansion" in the works, as he claims that they continue to explore themes and ideas that may be a departure from the game's theme. That doesn't mean the DLC's will be disconnected from the main franchise, but they're definitely already cooking up something for "Mafia 3" fans.
