Assassin's Creed III Tyranny of King Washington DLC Series Kicks Off Wii U Feb. 21

For Nintendoians a bit miffed at the lack of DLC for their versions of Assassin's Creed III, worry not. The first episode of the The Tyranny of King Washington will hit the Wii U eShop Febuary 21st, an Ubisoft representative confirmed to Polygon today.

The first episode of the DLC, The Infamy, was released on PSN, Xbox Live, and PC earlier today. (Check out the trailer here.) Details for the eShop release of the content, however, had yet to been confirmed. Though no price has been disclosed, The Infamy currently costs $9.99 on PSN and PC, so the Wii U version will likely follow suit.

King Washington explores how Connor's story would differ if he never became an assassin, and if after defeating the British, George Washington took the victory as an opportunity to crown himself King of the United States. The DLC follows the old addage of "absolute power corrupts absolutely," and since it's an Assassin's Creed story, the root of that power looks to be a piece of eden.

Having never taken the name "Connor," Ratonhnhaké:ton, "must endure new trials, acquiring the skills he'll need to take down a possessed Washington and win freedom for his land once and for all," according to Ubisoft.

The Infamy is the first of three episodes, The Betrayal, and The Redemption, in March and April respectively. Ubisoft did not reveal whether the Wii U versions of future episodes would be released alongside the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC versions, or feature a similar delay.
