Josh Tsui, president of developer Robomodo, dug deep into his bag of old and forgotten gameplay footage to bring you a glimpse of a game that could have been.
The following is a video pitch for a Star Wars fighting game based on episodes I-III, which Tsui helped create at Studio Giganté, an early-to-mid aughts-era developer created by former Mortal Kombat series veterans. According to Joystiq, Tsui himself was no stranger to making fighting games, with credits on Mortal Kombat 4 and Fight Night: Round 3.
Pedigree aside, a Star Wars fighting game isn't a good idea. We've seen happens, and it isn't pretty.
The video was made to demonstrate the move-sets for Darth Maul and Anakin Skywalker, so the two character systematically wail on each other with lightsabers, and eventually use the force to throw each other around the room. I'd recomend jumping around as you watch the clip: You wouldn't be the first person to start feeling bored after a minute or two.
