iPad Pro's successor has been in the rumor mill ever since the line of tablet was introduced late last year and a revamped version came out in March this year. There have been talks about improved specs and features that will be part of the next iPad Pro, currently dubbed as iPad Pro 2. However, it turns out that Apple is not only developing one successor in the lineup but three. Latest reports suggest that there could be three new versions of the iPad Pro 2 coming next year.
According to a fresh report from Japanese site Mac Okatara (via MacRumors), citing reliable sources, Apple will bring a tweaked version of the 7.9-inch iPad Mini and classify it under the iPad Pro lineup. This iPad Pro 2 version will have four speakers and a smart connector found in the current models. Another version will reportedly measure 10.1-inch and will have a 12-megapixel camera. The third version and also the biggest, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2 will reportedly sport similar features as the second version. What makes both versions different remains uncertain as the report didn't provide any details about it.
Meanwhile, Tech Radar reports that the upcoming iPad Pro 2 will have an impressively powerful chipset on board. While the latest iPhone 7 and its variant are already powerful, considering it carries the A10 Fusion chipset, the report indicated that the next iPad Pro will be superior in terms of performance - all thanks to the rumored A10X chipset. Based on the Geekbench test, the chipset had a single-core score of 4236 and a multi-core rating of 6588. To compare, the iPhone 7 has a rating of 3490 and 5580 for single-core and multi-core, respectively.
An exact release date for the new iPad Pro 2 lineup has not been announced but Mac Okatara's report indicated that the devices should be available around spring of next year. Given the reports on the specs and other details about the tablet, it appears that iPad Pro 2 is yet another exciting release from the Cupertino-based tech giant. However, nothing has been confirmed and readers should take the information with a pinch of salt.
