Ben Affleck's Batman will once again appear in DC superhero flick, "Justice League," but he is also set to have his own standalone movie. Affleck will not only be starring in the Batman solo movie but is also working on the script and taking the director's seat. During an interview with the Associated Press for his latest movie, "The Accountant," Affleck was asked about the title of the upcoming film and somehow the actor has kept it as a no-brainer - "The Batman."
The "Justice League" actor explained that it's still possible that the title will change in the long run. "I might change it, I think that's about it right now, that's all I got," he said. Ben Affleck also gave an update on the progress of "The Batman," saying that the team is currently doing the script and fans should learn more updates as the filming progresses. It was also confirmed that Deathstroke will be part of the movie and he will be played by Joe Manganiello.
Deathstroke exists in the DC comics and is an elite soldier who underwent a secret experiment conducted by the military. This resulted to his superhuman strength and agility, paired with exceptional martial arts skills that made him a challenge for Batman. In a recent interview with Collider, Ben Affleck explained why he liked Deathstroke to be part of "The Batman." "He's a great villain because-I just had an instinctive feeling that he would match up with him well," he told the publication.
Meanwhile, a release date for Ben Affleck's "The Batman" has yet to be confirmed. However, Entertainment Weekly reported that this standalone film will probably be ready between The Flash movie, which is slated for a 2018 release, and a Cyborg film, which is expected to release in 2020.
