Squirrel Girl is Marvel's biggest and unbeatable star that takes down every super hero character in the universe. As Doreen Green, she was bullied because of her mutation and she retreated in the nearby woods to find comfort in her isolation. But later she found herself in command of a bunch of squirrel.
Just like every one of us, Squirrel Girl looks up to Iron Man and would have wanted to be Tony Stark's partner. But Marvel's leading super hero refuses to partner with Doreen Green even when she clearly defeated Doctor Doom, with the help of those cute squirrels, of course.
Squirrel Girl has been around for a couple of years, but nobody took notice of her. It was only when Ryan North, the writer, Erica Henderson, the artist and Wil Moss, the editor, made Doreen Green the unbeatable Marvel super hero that everyone took notice of her.
The team that developed Squirrel Girl was also concerned not only about her super powers but also of the character of Doreen Green. They do not want her to solve every problem by just being strong and always in command of those furry squirrels. Was not she one of those computer science students working in STEM?
Moss said that the graphic novel "Squirrel Girl" was one of the more popular titles in the Marvel franchise. That means that the team has done a good job creating a good story, and has found an audience who can actually appreciate the adventures of Doreen Green.
North admitted that it took them several days brainstorming on how Squirrel Girl can actually beat the entire Marvel universe. Though the comic book is a stand alone, the team still has to work around the Marvel sand box.
