Rockstar Games has not officially confirmed the arrival of "Red Dead Redemption 2" but fans keep on speculating what features the sequel may bring. Rockstar Games will not be releasing any new titles until April 2017, but some players believe that "Red Dead Redemption 2" will launch in the future. Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick previously stated that the title is a permanent franchise, although the release date is kept under wraps.
Tech Radar stated that the map of "Red Dead Redemption 2" has been leaked, showcasing various landmarks like Kahuta, the Old Fort Walls, Roanoke Valley and New Bordeaux from "Mafia 3," among others. Kahuta is a city in Pakistan. Roanoke Valley is also based on a real place and appears much like it. New Bordeaux is a fictional location inspired by New Orleans. The map allegedly came from a source close to the development of "Red Dead Redemption 2, who mentioned that it will actually be the one used in the game.
The leaked "Red Dead Redemption 2" map is located east of the map in the original game. Great Plains is found at the bottom left of the new map, which is native to the Blackwater settlement at the top right of the original game map. There is no railroad in the Great Plains, which is consistent with the rumors that the setting of "Red Dead Redemption 2" will be before the first game. Based on the leaked map, there are caravan camps, hinting that the West will be less occupied.
The presence of New Bordeaux also adds to the interesting crossover between "Red Dead Redemption 2" and "Mafia 3," although it is still uncertain whether some characters from the gangster title will also appear. There will be swamps and islands, which could mean that the protagonist may swim for the first time. There may also be boats due to the presence of water at various parts of the map.
WhatCulture stated that the new map of "Red Dead Redemption 2" will be one of its main assets. It is a huge open world that players will definitely enjoy exploring. Exploring the map in the original game featured random events, treasure hunts and other challenges that set it apart from others. The same features are expected to arrive in "Red Dead Redemption 2."
