Samsung Galaxy S8 is said to resemble the iPhone 7. Rumor has it that the South Korean tech company is looking into developing their own brand of Lightning-like ports that could support audio removing the 3.5mm headphone jacks from their future devices. Additionally, the device may feature UHD resolution and Edged screens.
The USB Implementers Forum revealed that the Audio Device Class 3.0 specs has helped Samsung and other companies to make the jump from the 3.5mm jacks to USB-C for audio. Smartphones, tablets and ultraportable laptops may now opt to ditch the headphone jack without having to worry about having to bake audio support into a USB-C or a new port, BGR reported.
Samsung Galaxy S8 moving towards audio over USB-C would also require the use of USB-C headphones as well. The sound quality is expected to improve as well as removing the aging 3.5mm headphone jack that is said to shave up to a millimeter off from a device's thickness. This may also mean slimmer phones in the future. Removing the 3.5mm jack is also believed to help in waterproofing.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 may feature a better digital audio support, keyword detection and power-saving features. The USB-C headphones are also said to give a better sound experience with less battery consumption. The upcoming device is also set to facilitate voice-recognition features, Engadget reported.
Meanwhile, if rumors are true, Samsung Galaxy S8 may also feature UHD resolution. Samsung is also reportedly fixed on pushing VR for the device. Samsung is also expected to launch a strong flagship phone next year to reverse the misfortunes of the Galaxy Note 7.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 is also rumored to feature iris scanning and dual cameras will make it on the flagship phone as well as Edged screens. The Korean Company is said to be removing standard screens for the Galaxy lineup.
