"Lucifer" Season 2 showcases how Charlotte is now back on earth to reunite with the kids. "Lucifer" suspected her mom Charlotte of her involvement in the murders happening and no matter how she pleads her innocence, still he didn't believe her.
Yahoo relayed that in "Lucifer" Season 2, both of the brothers have struggles in trusting their mom. They even told the Maze to follow Charlotte and track her whereabouts. Charlotte seem to prove at Amanedielle of the genuineness of her love and and it seems to be working as well.
Given the fact that Amanedielle was the one who brought his mom to hell following what his father told him to do. Moreover, she was also tortured in hell by Maze according to "Lucifer's" command.

Maze really enjoyed torturing anyone cast in hell but this time, he can't break Charlotte that's why after becoming human again Maze thought he can finally harm her. It has been conveyed that Charlotte is strategically inclined, she's smart, and she knows what she is doing. Also, it is presumed that Charlotte even hate humans and demons in "Lucifer" Season 2.

In connection with the murder in "Lucifer" Season 2, Charlotte pleads for innocence while "Lucifer" had a hard time believing her. He even confronted her mom about the murder but she promised that she did not come back to hurt anyone. International Business Times noted she even slapped him in order to stop.
