"Lucifer" Season 2 ended its premiere season with a cliffhanger before airing the next episode to give way to the 2016 Presidential Debate. Fans were left anxious to know about the identity of Lucifer (Tom Ellis) and Amenadiel's (DB Woodside) Mom. At the end of the season 2 premiere, Mom (Tricia Helfer) a.k.a Charlotte, came into Lucifer's bar, bloody and desperate for help. Is she playing the wounded character who genuinely needs help or does she have a different agenda for being here on Earth?
In an interview with TVLine, Helfer confirmed that Mom has come to Earth as she has a hidden agenda, but the actress said that the character is not entirely an evil person. Episode 2 of "Lucifer" Season 2 will also reveal her side of the story about how she abandoned Lucifer when God decided to cast him to Hell.
It can be recalled in the premiere episode of "Lucifer" Season 2 that the titular character confided in his psychologist, Linda (Rachael Harris), about his "mom issues" when he felt Mom didn't do anything during his banishment. Helfer said in the interview that these issues will be addressed as Charlotte explains her side. "Yes, these are celestial beings, but at the end of the day they're a family, and sometimes as parents, in order to protect your children, you maybe hide a bit of the truth," Helfer explained.
Meanwhile, "Lucifer" Season 2 second episode is titled "Liar, Liar, Slutty Dress on Fire." After ending the search for her mother, Lucifer was surprised to see her turn up at his place. She now needs help from him as she was involved in a murder case. Charlotte will plead that she's innocent but Lucifer finds it hard to believe her. He instructs Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) to look out for his mother while he goes to solve the case with Chloe (Lauren German). This would be interesting to see as Maze was the one who tortured Charlotte when she got sent to Hell. "Lucifer" airs on Mondays, 9 p.m. ET on FOX.
