Fans were excited to learn that Naughty Dog will launch "The Last Of Us 2" in the future. However, the sequel may take a while to complete, since the game developer is also working on other projects. In the meantime, fans might see a "The Last Of Us 2" trailer every now and then to keep them updated about the game progress.
iTechPost stated that according to Neil Druckmann, creative director at Naughty Dog, they will focus on developing the "Uncharted 4" DLC before working on "The Last Of Us 2." Druckmann previously mentioned that "The Last Of Us 2" might release sometime in 2021, with official updates to arrive in 2018. It seems that Naughty Dog wishes to capitalize on "Uncharted" at the moment, since it is one of the top games in the world.
Considering the long wait for "The Last Of Us 2," Naughty Dog may feature a number of games in the interim. There are talks that they may be waiting for the next-generation consoles, which will even be newer than the upcoming Xbox Project Scorpio and PlayStation 4 Pro. It is possible that "The Last Of Us 2" may not commence development until 2018. Despite the distant release date, most fans were still pleased to know that there will be a sequel. Naughty Dog is apparently not making any compromises to the quality and storyline to make it as great or even better than the original 2013 game.
Parent Herald wrote that "The Last Of Us 2" may feature the return of Ellie (Ashley Johnson) and Joel (Troy Baker). There will reportedly be a new story, and some fans speculated that it may still have connections to either "The Last Of Us" or the "Uncharted 4" DLC. The game developers are allegedly facing a lot of challenges in terms of the plot.
Some are optimistic that Druckmann may feature a "The Last Of Us 2" teaser at the PlayStation Experience in December 2016 or E3 2017. If Naughty Dog follows its previous pattern, a trailer may appear in June 2017. More updates and details on "The Last of Us 2" are expected soon.
