The anticipated September event of Apple has come and gone and fans were introduced to new products, including the iPhone 7. Still missing from the bunch is the rumored MacBook Pro 2016. Apple fanatics are still on the lookout for the release of the revamped laptop. Since Apple has remained silent about the laptop, readers should take unconfirmed reports with a pinch of salt from this point.
According to The Apple Post, the Cupertino-based tech giant will have a keynote presentation on this month in which the MacBook Pro 2016 is said to be launched. The date is when Apple Airpods become officially on sale and the report has it that the new laptop will share the stage with the accessory. Specifically, it was predicted that the device will be launched on Oct. 24.
It was noted by MacWorld UK, however, that the predicted date for the revamped MacBook Pro 2016 doesn't make sense since it falls on a Monday. It's unusual for Apple to hold an event that falls on that specific day. More importantly, information about the date was reportedly provided by anonymous sources via email, which makes it less convincing. In addition, the publication noted that having an October launching for the MacBook Pro would be too soon, considering iPhone 7 was recently introduced.
Meanwhile, reports of what the MacBook Pro 2016 will be are also making the rounds. Several reports have long suggested that the new laptop will have a touch panel above the keyboard. This new technology will replace the standard function keys; it will also reportedly where users will know about the status of their battery and Wi-Fi connection. Fortune reported that the new MacBook Pro will also feature a Touch ID sensor for secure payments in Safari browser. The same feature can also be used to unlock the device with the user's fingerprint.
The rumored device is also said to be thinner and lighter than its predecessor. It's been widely reported that the MacBook Pro 2016 will also follow in the footsteps of the iPhone 7 in which the 3.5mm headphone jack was removed in favor of wireless headphones. Oct. 24 isn't far off so it's best to wait for more updates if Apple will really launch the new device on that date.
