Sony Xperia X Compact was first revealed during the IFA 2016 last Sept.1 in Berlin. The Xperia X Compact is slated to hit the stores in the U.S. market later this month on Sept. 25. The smartphone reportedly boasts the well-known Triluminos technology. Without further adieu, Amazon has already opened pre-ordering options for the Xperia X Compact starting last Sunday.
Smartphones are getting larger these days and the market for smaller mobile phones is still a big one. Sony was aims to meet this demand as they came up with the Sony Xperia X Compact with its solid build, good specs and a screen size under five inches. While Sony phones are reportedly hard to find in any given market, consumers in the U.S. can now pre-order the American unlocked model via Amazon.
Amazon has begun taking pre-orders for Sony Xperia X Compact with a retail price of $499.99 in black, white and light blue color options. Additionally, the shopping site also offered a payment scheme with $50 of Amazon credit for those who pre-order.
The retailer says that the credit will be applied directly upon purchase of the item, making the actual price of the pre-ordered Sony Xperia X Compact down to $499.99 exclusive of taxes and shipping. The Xperia X Compact will be delivered on Sunday, Sept.25, Amazon said.
In other news, Sony pushed updates to Sony Xperia XA and Sony Xperia X. The former's build number template was moved from 33.2.X.2.XX to 33.2.X.3.XX but there has been no other information besides this. The latter will also receive a small update for bug fixes with a build number template from 34.0.A.2.292 to 34.0.A.2.301, GSM Arena reported.
The Sony Xperia X Compact is expected to work on T-Mobile, AT&T and other GSM carriers. The smartphone features a 4.6 inches 720p screen and runs on a Snapdragon 650 processor. It also includes 3GB of RAm, 32GB internal storage than can be expanded via a MicroSD card. The phone also has a 23MP rear camera and a USB Type-C port.
However, its battery capacity is only 2,700mAH following its dimesions of 129x65x9.5mm. This nifty handset runs the Android 6.0 Marshmallow and was previously added to Sony's Open Device Program for easy bootloader unlocks and drivers.
