When "Grey's Anatomy" and "How To Get Away With Murder" premiered last Thursday, everyone was expecting "Scandal" Season 6 to debut as well. But none of Olivia Pope and her associates showed up on the television when the night ended, which prompted speculation that "Scandal" Season 6 was cancelled.
Worry not Gladiators. According to Variety, the premiere of "Scandal" Season 6 has been moved to midseason to accommodate the pregnancy of star Kerry Washington. It can be recalled that what is happening to "Scandal" Season 6 was also what ABC did in the third season during Washington's first pregnancy which proves how important "Scandal" Season 6 is to their brand.
Instead of "Scandal" Season 6, according to Hollywood Life, what is airing on the usual timeslot is new drama "Notorious." Because of this, the Thursday line up for ABC is not carrying the name "T.G.I.T.," At least, not until the winter when "Scandal" season 6 bows on the network.
The show is said to be already in production and it is rumored that the writers are considering to have Olivia Pope pregnant in "Scandal" Season 6. After all, Pope was already pregnant last season before she had an abortion so it is possible they can bring back that arc.
ABC still has not announced an official release date for "Scandal" Season 6 but they did say that it will premiere the winter television season so it will most likely start its run either in January or February. GameNGuide will be covering on the production of "Scandal" Season 6 and its episodes in the coming weeks.
Will Olivia indeed be pregnant in "Scandal" Season 6 to reflect Washington's own real life pregnancy? Who will be the father of the child? GameNGuide would love to hear your thoughts in the comments section. In the meantime, watch the teaser preview for the fifth season of "Scandal" in the video below.
