William H. Macy's Frank Gallagher in the new season of "Shameless" is still alive, despite being thrown into the river by his children. It can be recalled that Frank was dumped into the freezing cold Chicago River when his kids had the last straw. "Shameless" Season 7 premieres on Sunday and fans are about to see Frank come back from the dead.
Macy spoke to Chicago Tribune to talk about the fate of his character in "Shameless" Season 7. The 66-year-old actor found it amusing to tell people that Frank survived and that he drifted to the Lake Michigan where rescuers found him. It was also revealed that Frank became unidentified and went into a coma for 30 days. The patriarch is here to stay and that comes as no surprise to the audience. According to the publication, Macy's stunning performance is one of the things that make "Shameless" interesting.
It seems that there's just no getting rid of Frank. The actor even likened his character to a cockroach. "You're never going to get rid of me," Macy said. The premiere episode of "Shameless" Season 7 is also not a surprise since it had released first online ahead of its schedule on Showtime. The official network site also provided the synopsis for the premiere episode like how Frank was able to wake up a month after being in a coma and finding out that no one in his family actually missed him.
On the other hand, Debbie (Emma Kenney) starts to worry about being a teenage mom to Franny. She made the drastic decision to go criminal just to make sure her baby has a wealthy future. Lip (Jeremy Allen White) has finally left rehab and is now sober - and he's determined to stay that way too. There will also be contemplating about surgery in "Shameless" Season 7 as Carl (Ethan Cutkosky) finds out he's the only Gallagher sibling who didn't get circumcised.
While Frank is established to return in "Shameless" Season 7, the same cannot be said for Emmy Rossum's Fiona. The eldest Gallagher daughter is also fed up with her family that she decides to leave them. Whether or not she comes back for the new season remains to be seen. Fans should just tune in to "Shameless" Season 7, which premieres on Oct. 2, 9 p.m. ET on Showtime.
