With that, his role in "Ballers" Season 3 might be delayed or, worse, canceled, as per Movie News Guide. The comedy-drama TV series surrounds the life of the 44-year-old star's role as the former NFL player, Spencer Strasmore. Although the show's showrunners already confirmed the renewal of "Ballers" Season 3, some say it is still left hanging.
Dwayne Johnson is busy filming "Jumanji" and on his IMDb page, it also noted that he has to film "Shazam" and "Journey 3: From the Earth to the Moon." Aside from that, he also has "Doc Savage," "Rampage" and "San Andreas 2" waiting to be filmed. Unfortunately, the production of "Ballers" Season 3 is not yet on the list.

They said that the show's showrunners should also give exposure to other cast members and don't solely focus to the retired athlete in "Ballers" Season 3.
In "Ballers" Season 1 and 2, other casts don't have their own storylines and the spotlight was only centered to Spencer Strasmore. The publication added that in "Ballers" Season 3, it should give other stars the chance to tell their own stories to make it look new. Additionally, it looks like fans still have to wait a little longer for the release of "Ballers" Season 3 as HBO has yet to announce its filming.
