CD Projekt RED is turning up the heat with the announcement of the Witcher 3, the final game in the three part series. According to sources, the Witcher 3 will be an open world game similar to Skyrim, and is expected to launch in 2014 on PC and next generation consoles.
Adam Badowski, head of CD Projekt RED, stated the Witcher 3 world would be 30 times bigger than the Witcher 2, which can explain why this game is aiming to be of the open world variety. There's also reports of the game being 20 percent larger than Skyrim, and would take 40 minutes to cross on horseback.
"People may ask if this is really going to be the last Witcher game. Yes, it is. Why? Because we believe that we should end the series on a high note. Technology has progressed to where we can finally tell the story the way we want, with the visuals we want, in the world we imagined," said Adam Badowski, head of the studio.
So as it stands, CD Projekt RED is planning to end the Witcher series with a bang, and what better way to do it than with an open world environment. With the awesome combat, characters, and the world found within the series, have no doubt in my mind that the Witcher 3 will turn out to be a better Skyrim.
