Fans got excited when the coming of "Outlander" Season 3 was announced earlier this year, but it looked like they have to wait a little longer for its release. In a Facebook Live Session, Sam Heughan, who plays the role of Jamie Fraser, talked about the series and revealed things about the production.
'Outlander' Season 3 Will Be Done Filming In May
"We've just got two seasons commissioned for 'Outlander.' We're doing 11 months. We finish end of May," Sam Heughan said about the filming of "Outlander" Season 3. "And we'll be finishing in South Africa, which is pretty awesome. And then Season 4 will start not long after that," he continued. As the show is going to be based on Diana Gabaldon's third book, "Voyager," it would be shot in different locations, as per Cinema Blend.
Sam Heughan and company have been filming "Outlander" Season 3 since the summer and won't be finished until May. After that, the production would be busy doing post-prod editing, special effects and other fun stuff. Hence, it might take a little longer before new episodes of the much-awaited time travel series made it on TV. Also, he hinted that they will begin filming "Outlander" Season 4 after their ongoing production, maybe, to avoid the delays.
Sam Heughan Looking Forward To The Reunion Of Jamie, Claire
Meanwhile, GamenGuide reported that Sam Heughan revealed that he, too, is looking forward to the reunion of Jamie and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and work with the actres. However, they would have to go through a lot of struggles before they finally meet. As described by the 36-year-old Barbour model, the storyline of his character is really exciting and what excites him more is being reunited with his wife.
Aside from that, Sam Heughan also teased that "Outlander" Season 3 would have a lot of "exciting stuff" to give its fans. Although he is already giving little details about the show, he also admitted that he is trying to restrict himself not to give a lot. They only revealed the things happening after the Battle of Culloden, which is already in the book, but the TV adaptation would be very "spectacular." Starz has yet to announce the release of "Outlander" Season 3, but it is expected to be out in 2017.
