It was validated that Freeform (formerly the ABC network) has renewed the American teen/family drama television series for season 5. TVline reported that "Switch at Birth" Season 5 will have 10 episodes.

Kicking off from the season finale, "Switch at Birth" Season 5, will turn up with a cliff hanging scene of season 4. Bay was on the phone taking a call from an unknown caller leaving the viewers' guessing who's on the other side of the line.
