Fans are still waiting for the renewal of "Wayward Pines" Season 3 after the show's second installment concluded in July. There are swirling rumors that the mystery, science fiction TV series won't have a new chapter, but that is refuted by Fox Television Group CEO Dana Walden.
'Wayward Pines' Season 3 Now In Discussion?
"I definitely think there could be a Season 3," the co-chairman told TVLine. It has been said that the first season based on Blake Crouch's novels with the same title hit tremendous high ratings, but its second installment was a little depressing. Dana Walden insisted that "Wayward Pines" is still the number one scripted show of the summer and "Wayward Pines" Season 3 is definitely coming. "We don't know yet what we're going to find when the multi-platform numbers roll up, ultimately how big that audience [can be]," she explained.
Dana Walden also talked about the path that they have to take as they are going to create "Wayward Pines" Season 3 from scratch. She said that she and the show's executive producer M. Night Shyamalan would share their ideas to create the next installment of the TV series. She also added that the first few episodes will feature a restart as the cast will find their ways, but from the third episode onwards, the development will start. The businessperson also revealed that they are now in a discussion for "Wayward Pines" Season 3 and it would be really "compelling."
Humans Vs. Abbies
Meanwhile, GamenGuide reported that "Wayward Pines" Season 3 will take its viewers to the deep, dark side story of the Abbies. Previously, fans witnessed the battle of the humans against this element; now the fight will continue and will be even harder. The Abbies have the ability to transform itselves that makes them stronger, making it hard for them to be defeated. With that, there's a threat that the humans might lost and the humanity will vanish and conquered by the Abbies. Fox has yet to announce the coming of "Wayward Pines" Season 3, but it is expected to be out in 2017.
