‘Pokemon Go’ Second Gen Latest News, Release Date & Update: New Region-Locked Critters Coming In May 2017?

Niantic has been busy rolling out updates as of late for “Pokemon Go” but if the roadmap holds up, more region-locked Pokemon characters could be out by May 2017. This is the assumption that it will come alongside the speculated second gen of the famed augmented reality game.

It should be noted that Niantic hasn’t confirmed the arrival of new region-locked Pokemon thought he spate of features happening in the coming months could be a good indication. Pokemon Trading is believed to debuting next month followed by Pokemon Trainer Battles happening either in December 2016 or January 2017, Neurogadget reported.

Expanding game, more region-locked monsters

To date, there are only four region-locked characters for “Pokemon Go” which can only be found in select parts of the globe. There is no credible word on who could be joining the mix though the grapevine has suggested some.

The list includes Miltank for North America and Heracross for Asia. Aside from them, there is also Delibird and Smeargle possibly for South America and so on. As far as South America is concerned, this at least hints that at least one of the region-locked critters will be up for “Pokemon Go” players over there.

What about the Africa, Middle East, and Russia?

There are still a good number of regions who don’t have “Pokemon Go” such as Africa, Middle East, and Russia. If and when the augmented realty game, the next thing that gamers from the said regions would likely want to know are the critters available, including the region-locked rares.

With the time element up for consideration, the “Pokemon Go” they may get may even be the third generation instead of the second gen, a big jump.

For now, Niantic has been working hard to address bugs and make the game better. For the regions who have yet to get “Pokemon Go”, a consolation is that they will already get a near-perfect and bug-free AR game.
