The followers of "Outlander" series received a bit of a downer information when producers announced that "Outlander" season 3 premiere will be postponed. Reports about cancellation of "Outlander" season 3 quickly emerged online. However, the showrunners were quick to dismiss the cancellation rumors as they announced that "Outlander" season 3 will air on 2017.
One of the main reasons why "Outlander" season 3 premiere is moved next year is because of the shooting locations. According to Sam Heughan, there are scenes in "Outlander" season 3 that require different locations which takes too much time.
"Outlander" Season 3 Major Theme & Plot
Perhaps to compensate for the posponement of "Outlander" season 3, the producers released the main plot of the upcoming season. The newest cast member for "Outlander" season 3 is Wil Johnson, a "Waking The Dead" alumni.
Johnson will play the role of Joe Abernathy in "Outlander" season 3. He will start off as Claire's friend in medical school who also happens to be a doctor in training. His main role in "Outlander" season 3 is still unclear as he might end up being the villain in a major plot twist.
Claire has some issues with herself as she tries to stand again after her struggle with her rocky marriage. Some "Outlander" season 3 spoilers predict that Wil Johnson might play as Claire's new love interest. The viewers can still see Jamie and Claire struggling with their uncanny story of love and loss in "Outlander" season 3.
Love At A Different Time
In the previous season, Claire and Jamie have been separated not only by distance but also by time. Their time difference is unlike any long distance relationship as they are separated by centuries - different eras. Will Jamie find a way to catch up with Claire in current times? Or will Claire find a new distraction from Jamie with Joe Abernathy's arrival?
"Outlander" season 3 premiere will air on Apr. 1, 2017. Stay tuned to GamenGuide for more "Outlander" season 3 spoilers, news and updates!
