It's finally here, the Xiaomi Mi 5S and Mi 5S Plus series. After weeks of speculations, the company finally unveiled in their Beijing event Tuesday the metal unibodies of the models. Surprisingly, the Xiaomi Mi 5S was also accompanied by the Mi 5S Plus that boasts the rumored dual rear camera set up.
The Xiaomi Mi 5S is priced at CNY 1,999 for the 3GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant and CNY 2,299 for the 4GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant. The Mi 5S Plus on the other hand obviously comes at a higher price with CNY 2,299 tag price for the 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant and CNY 2,599 for the 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant.
The basic specs for the Xiaomi Mi 5S include a 5.15-inch display, 1080x1920 pixels resolution, 64GB storage, 2.15GHz processor, 3GB of RAM, 12-megapixel camera, 4-megapixel secondary camera, an Android OS and 3200mAh battery capacity.
The Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus on the other include a 5.70-inch display, 1080x1920 pixels resolution, 64GB storage, 2.35GHz processor, 4GB RAM, 13-megapixel primary camera and a 4-megapixel secondary camera. It carries an Android OS and packs in a battery of 3800mAh capacity.
News about the cancellation of the Mi 5S series came about few days before its was launched. Furthermore, it was eventually predicted that it will be replaced by the Mi Note S instead. It turns out, they were all rumors and that the Xiaomi has finally revealed the series.
