We already got our first look at Superman nemesis Lex Luthor from a magazine scan courtesy of All Games Beta earlier this month. But a recently released cinematic trailer for Injustice: Gods Among Us gave the first look at what the mogul is like in a fight. Check it out below!
As you'd expect, Luthor dons a warsuit of his own design, that's been seen frequently in the comics. While he's a ruthless tactician and brilliant scientist, Luthor's never been known as much of a fighter. From the magazine scan, we learned that he'll have to rely heavily on the suit if he hopes to keep up with the rest of the cast.
According to the magazine scan, "Superman's nemesis is not only key to the story mode, but he's also a heavy-duty fighter, thanks to his armored suit. Luthor relies heavily on gadget based attacks, and can launch missles and suck foes towards him. His special trait is a shield that can be powered by holding a button." According to DC Wikia, the suit is powered by all forms of kyrptonite, and seems to have even more going for it than what the trailer alludes, including energy blades and blasts, electrical surge generation, and more, though who knows if NeatherRealms will incorporate as much into the game.
As far as the story goes, it looks like Luthor's actually teamed up with the rest of the Justice League cast to take the fight to the Man of Tomorrow, but what brought them all together, much like the rest of the Injustice roster, remains to be seen.
The first issue of a digital comic is already making the rounds (with more issues to come) online, acting as a precursor explaining the story behind Injustice.
Injustice: Gods Among Us is set to be released this April, for Wii U, PS3, and Xbox 360.
