Call of Duty: Black Ops II was one of the biggest games of last year and it was also Xbox Live's most played game of 2012.
Xbox Live's Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb recently released the annual top twenty list for the most played games on Xbox and Activision's military first-person shooter took top honors. The list were announced on Xbox Live's Major Nelson Blog.
Hryb also released list for top Xbox Live arcade games, indie games and Games for Windows Live. According to Hryb the top game lists were calculated based on "average Unique Users per day connected to Xbox LIVE or full versions purchased between January 1, 2012 and December 31, 2012."
Activision's Call of Duty series actually has three games in the Xbox Live top 5, with 2011's Modern Warfare 3 in at number two and the original Black Ops at number five. Microsofts' Halo 4 was the number three overall game, and Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition took the fourth spot on the list.
