Another Double XP Weekend, and Looking at the Peacekeeper SMG for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2's Revolution DLC

Treyarch is offering one last Double XP Weekend for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 before the Revolution DLC drops Jan. 29. The weekend starts this Friday, Jan. 25, and goes 'til Jan. 28. The weekend works on the game for all platforms, PC, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and Xbox 360.

And one day after the weekend ends, the Revolution DLC Map Pack drops, giving players four new maps, the ability to play as a zombie, and the game's first ever DLC weapon, the Peacekeeper SMG. Described as a hybrid between an SMG and an assault rifle, some player's still have some questions about Black Ops 2's new weapon.

So, Design Director David Vonderhaar took to Twitter to do what he could to spread the knowledge, and it was there that he dropped the following nuggets of information.

- "If you have Diamond SMGs, you have to level up the Peacekeeper to Gold to unlock its Diamond camo."
- "You *do not* need to level up the Peacekeeper, to get Diamond on the rest of the SMGs. All will go Diamond when you get them Gold."
- "And you'll be able to pick up the Peacekeeper off the ground, see it Sharpshooter, or Customs, etc., all even if you don't own Revolution.

Now, if a new weapon, four new multiplayer maps, new zombie game mode, and a new zombie map isn't enough for you to pick up Revolution, Vonderhaar does have one more reason for you to grab the DLC when it comes out Jan. 29, Xbox 360, with eventual releases to follow for PC, PS3, and Wii U.

"Because my new car needs tires already. Goodbye now."

At least he's honest.

Since its release, Black Ops 2 has managed to gross over $1 billion, which is just another milestone for the shooter. Shortly after the game's launch, it was revealed that Black Ops 2 managed to set records as Amazon's most pre-ordered game ever. It also managed to hit a sell-through of over $500 million worldwide in the first 24 hours of its release, according to Chart-Track.
