The former "Game of Thrones' Season 6 actor has just spoken up about his character's original storyline in the series. According to Alexander Siddig, Doran Martell was supposed to appear in 4 episodes in the sixth season. However, the show's producers called him to announce that the character will only appear in one episode because he will be killed immediately (via StarTrek.com). Nevertheless, that doesn't mean that there was no chance that Doran would have been in "Game of Thrones" Season 7, where he might form an alliance with Daenerys Targaryen.
'Game Of Thrones' Season 7 Theory: Was Doran Martell Originally Written To Unite With Daenerys Targaryen?
There are speculations that Dorne was supposed to end up in alliance with Daenerys Targaryen in a very different way. It is possible that Doran Martell will allow Trystane to marry Dany after learning of Myrcella Baratheon's death. The theory suggests that "Game of Thrones" Season 6 would have ended with the Mother of Dragons sailing alongside Trystane instead of Ellaria Sand and the Sand Snakes. This could also mean that Doran and his son would have survived until "Game of Thrones" Season 7.
