While fans are excited for the release of "The Dark Tower" on the silver screen on Feb 2017, several details were also revealed for the TV series in honor of Stephen King's birthday. The movie is an adaptation of one of the author's novel.
Show runners of "The Dark Tower" TV series have chosen the fourth book "Wizard and Glass" as an inspiration according to a report by Entertainment Weekly. The story takes off from the ending of "The Waste Lands." The four gunslingers in the story will find themselves in a place called Topeka, Kansas during the 80's.
In print, the fourth book of "The Dark Tower" also narrates the interesting and mystical pink crystal ball called Wizard's Glass. The malevolent orb has greatly influenced Rhea and Roland's life.
"The Dark Tower" movie stars Idris Elba and Tom Taylor. According to LA Times, the two actors are also reprising their roles in the TV series. Show runners are reportedly looking for an actor who will play the role of young Elba's character.
Idris Elba will portray the role of gunslinger Roland Deschain, while Tom Taylor will play the character of Jake Chambers. Fans are wondering how long the two will appear in "The Dark Side" TV series since there is a large portion in the story where Roland is telling an adventure from his younger years. "Wizard and Glass" adaptation will also revolve around the circumstances on how his heart was captured by the wonderful Susan Delgado.
The television series of "The Dark Tower" will start shooting next year with the plans of getting aired by 2018. Currently, there is still not distributor of the "Wizard and Glass" adaptation, but it is said that it will have 10 to 13 episodes.
