Halo 4's episodic cooperative campaign Spartan Ops will return from hiatus later today and to celebrate Microsoft and 343 Industries have released new screenshots and trailer.
The video previews the remainder of season one and the images showcase several important characters that's will play a part in the campaign as the season continues.
Spartan Ops is a cooperative multiplayer mode with new downloadable episode releasing every week. The first season took a short hiatus in December, but now returns with the final five episodes.
Episode six will see the continuation of the Spartan-IV program as they battle against Prometheans and Covenant forces through out the alien planet of Requiem, a fortress world that once was a critical site during the Forerunner campaign against the Flood.
The Spartan IV's had been searching through the dark mysteries that remain hidden on the planet when they discovered cult leader Jul 'Mdama, aka The Didact's Hand in the fourth episode.
So far, Spartan Ops missions are composed of four to five minor objectives and takes about 10-15 minutes to complete with an ocassionly mission taking a little longer. During the missions players will battle against the combined forces of the Covenant and Promethean enemies through a variety of locations.
Halo 4: Spartan Ops episode six will release on Jan. 21, 2013. Halo 4 is now available worldwide as of Nov. 6 for the Xbox 360. You can read our review of the game here.
