GoPro, one of the world's famous action camera, has unveiled two new cameras, namely: GoPro Hero 5 Black and GoPro Hero 5 Session. The cameras come along with the Karma, which is the company's first ever quadcopter drone; the new cameras are compatible with the drone.
GoPro Hero 5 Black & GoPro Hero 5 Session
Both GoPro Hero 5 Black and GoPro Hero 5 Session feature a 2-inch Touch Display with a 12-megapixel camera that captures 4K footage up to 30 fps. The standout capabilities of the GoPro Hero 5 Black is its waterproof housing, allowing the action cameras to submerged 33 ft. of water without housing.
The GoPro Hero 5 Black comes with a 1220mAh lithium-ion rechargeable battery, a Type USB-C, micro HDMI port and a support for microSD card. The action camera also has a new built-in GPS system for tagging location date to a chip, a voice control that support seven languages and an auto-upload for the new GoPro cloud subscription service.
Although the GoPro Hero 5 Session has similarities with the GoPro Hero 5 Black, sadly, the GoPro Hero Session 5 has no GPS but it does support the auto-upload of photos and videos to Cloud when users charge the said action camera. GoPro Hero 5 Session also has a built-in 1000mAh lithium-ion rechargeable battery, which is smaller with a USB C-port only.
GoPro Karma Drone
In other news, GoPro took a step further in the action camera industry by launching its first ever drone dubbed as Karma. According to iTech Post, the drone is the most important product in their arsenal. The GoPro Karma drone is a self-landing, self-launching quadcopter and has a voice activation commands.
However, the specs indicates that the Karma drone is not a camera nor a drone or an image stabilizer. But, merely, a keychain attachment that quickly sends videos from the GoPro camera to the user's phone. That is possible through the development of the Quik key, a microSD reader that is compatible with both Android phones and an Apple variants.
GoPro Hero 5 Black, GoPro Hero 5 Session & Karma Drone Release Date & Price
GoPro Hero 5 Black and GoPro Hero 5 Session will be launched on Oct. 2, 2016 with prices of $399.99 and $299.99, respectively. The Karma drone, on the other hand, will released in Oct. 23 and it will cost $799.99 for the drone alone.
