With the announcement that Aliens: Colonial Marines had gone gold yesterday for PlayStation 3, PC, and Xbox 360, Gearbox was mum about the Wii U version, and when players could expect it.
Eurogamer reached out to Sega to get information on the Wii U release. While the company didn't confirm the Wii U version would release at the same time as the other platforms, they did say that it should be out some time before March.
Gearbox put out a story trailer not too long ago to help fans get caught up, which you can check out here.
Taking place after the events of the movie "Alien 3," players wil return to the LV-426 with another crew of marines, who are searching the planet for Ellen Ripley and their fellow marines. Settings will include the infamous derelict ship, Hadley's Hope, and the U.S.S Sulaco.
Some screens were released not too long ago that hinted at new alien types, and possibly some modes for the game's multiplayer. Just like Hicks and Hudson did in Aliens, players will be able to set up automated turrets, and defend specific areas by welding doors. Marine firepower like the smartgun, flamethrower, and the infamous pulse rifle will once again be used to blast away. Remember: short, controlled bursts. Both the Alien films and videogames have a history of tense, creepy moments, and paranoia. Marines is expected to be no different, so stay frosty.
Gearbox plans to implement the famous motion tracker in the tablet controller for the Wii U version.
Aliens: Colonial Marines will release for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on Feb. 12, 2013, so there's still time to pre-order that Collector's Edition.
