"Homeland" Season 6 might be once again delayed as Rupert Friend, who portrays Peter Quinn, suffered an injury while filming the TV series. The 34-year-old star arrived at the pre-Emmy Awards 2016 party while using crutches on Saturday.
'Homeland' Season 6 Will Be Delayed?
According to Deadline, Rupert Friend broke his bone in his right ankle while filming "Homeland" Season 6's first and second episodes in New York City. With that, Entertainment Weekly confirmed that the show's production will be delayed because of his accident. But, the injury the "Pride & Prejudice" star obtained said to be the result of the incidents he suffered in the fourth and fifth seasons of the political thriller that weakened his ligaments.
Rupert Friend is now momentarily sidelined from filming "Homeland" Season 6 as executive producer Lesli Linka Glatter decided to take little scenes that he could only bear. "Everyone has been very accommodating," the English actor said. Showrunner Alex Gansa, on the other hand, promised that "Homeland" Season 6 will still air on its planned release date in spite of what happened.
Carrie Will Have A Lot To Bear In 'Homeland' Season 6
As per Movie Pilot, "Homeland" Season 6 is moved in a later launch because of its storyline that featured the American presidential campaign and the inauguration of the new president. Aside from that, the show will also reveal the parting ways of Carrie (Claire Danes) and Peter. The role of the 37-year-old star will be back in America and will work as a volunteer for a Muslim foundation.
It looks like Carrie will take a lot of loads in the coming "Homeland" Season 6. As she is still dealing with her past as a former CIA agent, she will also have to manage her work in the foundation, the elections, her daughter, and her dating life. And this is all on top of handling the nuclear threat. Alex Gansa revealed that the show will mainly focus on the Iran nuclear deal that also happens in New York. "Homeland" Season 6 will return on Jan. 15 on Showtime.
