The surprise Disney hit "Big Hero 6" captivated audiences worldwide with its highly entertaining storyline. Now, fans can't help but hope for a sequel, which some have dubbed as "Big Hero 7."
Will A 'Big Hero 6' Sequel Be Made?
Officially, Disney has not yet announced that it will be making a sequel to the hit 2014 animated movie. However, industry watchers are pretty certain that a "Big Hero 6" sequel, which is currently referred to as the "Big Hero 7" movie will definitely come out.
Simply put, "Big Hero 6" was just too financially successful not to have a sequel. In fact, Disney bosses were reported to be more than pleasantly surprised at the tons of cash the animated film was ranking in when it released back in 2014. So, is "Big Hero 7" happening?
As everyone knows, the movie industry is all about the bottomline. If a film is successful in the box office, a sequel is almost always guaranteed. For this reason, fans are hopeful that a "Big Hero 7" movie shall come to pass.
'Big Hero 7' Movie Plans Confirmed By Cast
Apparently, the idea of "Big Hero 7" movie being seriously considered by Disney execs is not just mere speculations by fans at the moment. For instance, Genesis Rodriguez who is a member of the "Big Hero 6" voice cast as Honey Lemon, already confirmed to MTV that a sequel is definitely being seriously considered.
According to Rodriguez, "There's rumblings of something else happening," reports Cinema Blend. She added "this is huge for them," referring to the previous film being Disney's third highest grossing animated film. Much like what the fans are thinking, Rodriguez expressed confidence on a "Big Hero 7" movie release definitely happening, saying that "I doubt that they wouldn't want to do another one."
'Big Hero 7' Villain, Plot Speculations
Surprisingly, one of the speculated villains in the upcoming "Big Hero 7" movie is none other than Hiro's big brother Tadashi Hamada, which was previously reported by GamenGuide, While Tadashi was presumed dead in the explosion in "Big Hero 6," his body has not been found. This prompted some to speculate that he must have survived.
While a brother against brother fight might not suit well with fans, there are those who say that the "Big Hero 7" movie plot has a surprise twist in the end. Disney will not likely deviate from its feel good formula and the animosity between brothers will surely be ironed out before the end credits starts rolling.
'Big Hero 7' Movie Release Date Speculations
Is there a timetable for the "Big Hero 7" movie release date at the moment? Honestly, there is none but that is not stopping others other from making speculations as to when it might be coming out. Stan Lee, in an interview with Toronto Sun, mentioned several films' scheduled sequel plans by Marvel. "After Ant-Man, we're going to start playing around with Doctor Strange, the Black Panther, the Inhumans," Stan Lee explained. He added "and then, we have to come back for Guardian of the Galaxy 2, Big Hero 6, the Avengers, Captain America..."
Assuming that Stan Lee was not really naming the sequels of these films chronologically, the possible "Big Hero 7" movie release date falls on a rather wide window. It could happen as early as 2017 or as late as 2020 assuming it's placed last on the list. Do stay tuned to GamenGuide for updates.
