"The Division" public server is live for testing starting today Sep 22. Game developer Ubisoft announces that this date is for technical check before the final green light for public access in Sept 26, Monday.
Ubisoft clarifies that only PC gamers can access the server for now. Meaning, gamers with "The Division" copies from Steam and Uplay can have a heads up. Two other platforms PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are pending due to hanging nod from Sony and Microsoft. However, Ubisoft is confident that single platform is sufficient for now to gather reviews and assessments.
Now to clear things about this server testing, Ubisoft will "invite" gamers although it is unclear how this selection will work. The only confirmed detail to date is about proper launching when gamers can automatically see "The Division" in Steam or Uplay. Game Spot reported that this is the prompt that Ubisoft is done with finishing touches.
To recall, "The Division" was supposed to launch in Sept 15 but Ubisoft decided to delay. The developer cites game fixes and performance issues as reasons that compromised the promised date. To appease the fans and fix the problems, Ubisoft made adjustments through patch 1.4. However, even this shiny new patch as no tentative release date as well.
Meanwhile, Polygon advises test players not to expect too much from the quick run. Gamers will surely experience bugs and hold offs because this is for Ubisoft to determine how "The Division" will fare on the formal opening day. Fans should know that these bugs are meant to be addressed before Sept 26 so there is no need to worry.
Ubisoft is also encouraging test players to utilize the forum as much as possible. Any glitch encountered this early needs to be reported in order to fix before "The Division" opens for general gaming public, the developer added. This dedicated forum simultaneously opened today, Sept 22.
